Cotton mill man

Texte inspiré de mes derniers portraits au fusain.

Histoire de me remettre à l'écriture ! Donc forcément imparfait ...

The hell is cotton candy
All fluffy and snowy
White pieces of my soul
Falling around in pain

I may be no gentleman
But my heart is big
And open, and raw
Ready for you to barge in

Violence and loneliness,
Coldness and despair,
Left a hole inside me
Where the world can rush in

Waiting for all the smoke and dirt,
Wrapped around my heart,
To be blown away
So the light can come in

Time goes by,
And the only one who seems to care
Is she who gave me birth.
I don't want no pity

But I long for you,
Hoping you'll get past the shell
Bring colors into my world,
And hapiness into my life

Oh, don't wait too long,
Or it'll be too late,
For my body is tired
And my soul exhausted

The mill has taken its toll on me
Cotton is harsh and coarse
As is my character
Hiding the truth deep inside

So that it may blossom
Under your only sky.
